Kat O’Connor is a full-time artist working in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and drawing media, and a popular art instructor at The Umbrella and elsewhere. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions nationwide, and is currently featured in a solo show, Twice the Speed of Bliss, on view in The Umbrella's Allie Kussin Gallery January 13 - March 23, 2025.

The Umbrella Arts Center is pleased to present Fresh Ink: Contemporary Explorations in Printmaking, November 16, 2023 - January 4, 2024, juried by Carolyn Muskat. The exhibition includes printmakers from all across New England who use a variety of techniques in unexpected ways that push the boundaries of printmaking and speak to contemporary audiences. We spoke with Muskat about printmaking, jurying, and her upcoming Umbrella workshop.

On Tuesday July 12, the publishers of Zeke Magazine and The Umbrella Arts & Environment Program hosted a virtual discussion with three world-class documentary photographers featured in the current gallery exhibition, Sustainable Solutions: Documentary Photographers Explore the Climate Crisis, on extended view through August 15.

Artcubator artist Nicholas Johnson will be hosting an artist talk and walkabout on Saturday, March 5 at 3PM. During this talk, Nicholas will speak about his art and what he has been working on during his time as an Artcubator artist. NOTE: The Umbrella's COVID-19 policy requiring masks and proof of vaccination remain in effect for this event.

Since the completion of The Umbrella’s renovations in the fall, The Umbrella community has benefitted from having three new art exhibition spaces: the expanded Main Gallery, the Black Box Gallery, and Gallery 3. The expansions to our Main Gallery have allowed us to hold a number of successful main exhibitions, including our current show, Aperture, an annual group show featuring more than fifty artists based at The Umbrella Arts Center.
