Call for Art
- Go Out Doors - Neighbors 2021 - Originally inspired by the En Plein Air door installation on NYC’s High Line, Go Out Doors – Neighbors expands on a summer 2020 installation celebrating the opening of The West Concord section of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. We seek images that depict nature, or an activity (solo or with friends) on a recreational trail, or interacting with nature while out on the trail.
- 2021 Art Ramble "Something in the Air" Call for Art - Air is invisible and yet essential to life. Its quality affects our quality of life, as well as that of all living things. Our call seek works that illustrate human, animal and botanical interactions with air, and encourage exploration of the atmospheric aspects of the Hapgood Wright Town Forest.
- The Umbrella Artcubator - Awards studio space to visual artists for short term projects throughout the year. The Artcubator expands possibilities for audience engagement with visual arts by catalyzing new and experimental work.
- #DiscoverYourArts Showcase - An ongoing virtual art exhibition for our community of youth and adult students, campers, and other friends and neighbors of The Umbrella. Label and upload images or videos of artwork, along with an "artist's statement" about your experience of creating the work, to our Showcase folder OR post your work on social media with hashtag #DiscoverYourArts OR be nominated by a class teacher to be included in the next update.
The Umbrella Arts Center regularly invites our community and beyond to submit work for a variety of gallery and site specific shows. If you'd like to be the first to hear of new opportunities, subscribe to our Call for Art list below!
