SPRING ADULTS: Electric Kilns 101 - FULL

Course Description:     
This workshop is your introduction and guide to the loading, firing, maintaining and general operation of electric kilns, addressing the ceramic knowledge and terminology necessary for understanding kiln operations. We will work together in loading both a bisque and glaze kiln, discussing the differences between the two types of loads.

The intention of this workshop is to cover all relevant knowledge one should have to feel comfortable owning and operating an electric kiln. Additionally, this class will provide a deeper understanding of what is happening to your work as it makes its way through our kiln room, a peek behind the curtain.

Please note: Must be registered for a Winter Ceramics class or the Independent Program.
