SPRING ADULTS: Handbuilding Animals - FULL

In this class we will look at animals as a source of inspiration for creating sculpture or adorning pottery. We will go over proportions, anatomy, and how to find the essence of an animal. Hand building techniques such as building solid/ hollowing out, building with pinch pots and coils, using sewing patterns and slabs. Additionally, drawing, painting and sgraffito animals on wheel thrown pots or other vessels will be addressed. Bring your sense of humor! This class is suitable for all students.

Mary Kenny is an artist and educator fluent in many media including: ceramics, fiber arts, wood, metal, papier-mache, stained glass, and stop-motion animation.
