SPRING ADULTS: Carving Clay

Course Description:     
Are you looking for new ways to liven up the surfaces of your ceramic forms? This workshop will introduce various methods for carving leather hard clay. We will review carving tools and techniques and discuss compositional considerations for decorating three-dimensional forms. Students will learn through discussion, demonstrations, and instructor-guided work time. Intermediate/Advanced. Students are asked to come to this workshop with simple premade pieces or tiles, leather hard and ready to carve. This class is suitable for intermediate-advanced students.

Please note: Must be registered for a Winter Ceramics class or the Independent Program. Registration in this workshop does not include clay or studio access outside of the event times.

Katie Bosley Sabin is originally from Clearwater, Florida, and is currently making and teaching in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her MFA in Ceramics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and her BFA from the University of Florida.
