About

Celebrate the Earth’s natural rhythms!

"We are crossing the waters, our whole lives through,
We are making a passage that is straight and true,
Every heart is a vessel, every dream is a light,
Shining through the darkness of the blackest night."

We are Crossing the Waters - Bill Staines

Musketaquid Winter Solstice

The Umbrella Arts & Environment Program is thrilled to announce the return of the traditional Musketaquid Winter Solstice celebration!

With some COVID modifications, we will once again gather outdoors on the side lawn at The Old Manse (269 Monument Street, Concord, MA) to celebrate the longest night of the year and welcome the return of the light! Due to COVID, we'll forego food and singing in favor of festive highlights including:

  • Bonfire
  • Drumming by the Drum Nomads
  • Solstice Ceremony at 6:30pm

This event is free but registration is required. CLICK HERE FOR EVENT REGISTRATION

Limited parking for those who have pre-registered will be available at The Old Manse and the Old North Bridge/Robbins House lot. However, parking is very limited! Please carpool or walk if at all possible. CLICK HERE FOR PARKING PASS SIGN UP

Summer Solstice

Join us for a personalized celebration of the Summer Solstice. This year, the Summer Solstice falls on Sunday, June 21. For the longest day of the year, we encourage families and friends to make the most of it by spending as much time outside as possible! Soak up the sun and play yard games. Host a cookout or find a quiet spot for a picnic. Gather around a bonfire or share a flashlight fire with family all over the country. Musketaquid's chorus, Voices for the Earth, offers their book of songs for everyone to sing from on the Solstice. However you decide to celebrate, take the time to appreciate the sun and all its life-giving energy!
