Join The Umbrella in celebrating Summer Solstice at The Old Manse!
June 2017 (Concord, MA) - Join The Umbrella, SuAsCo River Stewardship Council, and OARS, for Summer Solstice 2017 on Sunday, June 2108 at The Old Manse, located at 269 Monument Street, Concord, MA.
From 3-6pm, celebrate Riverfest and test your STEAM skills! Can you make a boat out of cardboard and paddle it 25 yards? Before it sinks? Can you design your boat not only for maximum flotation and speed but also to blend in with the river habitat? In an hour and a half?
Race Winner Categories include First to Cross the Finish Line in Boat, Most Creative Concord River Habitat Design, and Most Spectacular Sinking. Bring your team, imaginations, and intrepid spirit, and we’ll provide the materials! Register at theumbrellaarts.org.
From 6-9pm, bring a picnic and enjoy songs by Sawyer Lawson and his band. Then join Voices for the Earth in song on The Old North Bridge and cap off the evening with s'mores around a Solstice Fire.
