SPRING ADULTS: Painting with Acrylic

Course Description:     
In this evening class we will practice with 2 main approaches an idea drawn first and direct painting without a drawing. Our subjects will include landscape, still life, abstracted and patterns. The student will be also be able to explore their own chosen subjects mid semester. A basic familiarity with painting will be helpful. Drawing experience is not necessary.

MATERIALS LIST
—8 canvasses, panels or oil paper (variable sizes, rectangles and squares; min size 9 x 12)
—acrylic paints: 2 reds, 2 blues, 2 yellows, any black, any white, burnt umber, and sap green or green oxide
—mix of brushes: flat, round, 2/3 inch, and bright
—pencil, eraser, blue masking tape, notebook, watercolor (paper to sketch not paint on)
—cup for water
—printed images you would like to make after a few weeks

Instructor: Nancy Hart
Nancy Hart is an interdisciplinary artist who explores the expanded field of Post Modernism in her teaching and studio work. She has an MFA from the Art Institute of Boston / Lesley University of Art and Design and a BFA in painting from TUFTS / the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
