SPRING ADULTS: Kyusu & Yunomi Workshop

INT/ADV

Since the pursuit of the teapot could last a lifetime, this short course will focus on one style (“yokode kyusu”—mini side-handle teapot) with a set of matching cups (yunomi). The delicacy of handle balance, spout length, and lid fit will be explored as well as the fine crafting of an interior leaf strainer and a set of matching yunomi. Casual discussion will center of course, upon tea, ceremony, and the making of one’s own ritual with regards to this ancient beverage. This class is suitable for intermediate-advanced students.

Please note: Registration in a full semester Spring course or Independent Program required.
