Catherine LeComte Lecce
Catherine LeComte Lecce is an interdisciplinary artist and curator whose creative practice focuses on photographic processes, exploring themes of women's societal issues, motherhood, and identity from a feminist perspective. She holds both a BFA and an MFA in Photography and often employs gel image transfer techniques and other processes to highlight the often-overlooked aspects of the postpartum experience. Her work examines the intersections of contemporary parenting practices and feminist ideas, uncovering the complex layers within these subjects.
Her work has been showcased in numerous group exhibitions across the Greater Boston Area and beyond, including venues such as The Umbrella Arts Center, The Griffin Museum of Photography, Piano Craft Gallery, Panopticon Gallery, Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, MassArt x SoWa Gallery, and Gallery 263.
She was the 2024 Winter/Spring Artist-in-Residence at The Umbrella Arts Center in Concord, MA, and was selected for a shared studio space at the center, extending her stay through 2025. In addition, Catherine is the curator and manager of the upcoming Burlington Art Space, a mobile gallery designed to bring art to the community, removing barriers to access and fostering creative engagement across diverse populations.
