FALL YOUTH: Wheel Throwing Fundamentals (Ages 8-12) (Tuesdays)

Course Description:     
In this beginner ceramics class we’ll cover all the fundamentals of wheel-throwing as well as many ways to alter, spice up, and decorate the pieces you make. You will practice basic techniques like centering, shaping, and creating simple forms. You will learn the process of adding attachments and explore the exciting world of glazing, adding a personal touch to your creations. Students that have taken this course previously are welcome to take it again as students will continue to develop their skill set and there will be some new projects.

Instructor: Phie Deal
Phie Deal is a ceramicist and sculptor from the Boston area. Their work focuses on returning to ancient and indigenous practices, such as working with clay taken straight from the ground, and firing work without a kiln.
