Ellie Burke
Ellie Burke is ceramic artist and an educator. She embarked on her artistic journey by earning her bachelor's degree in art education from Saint Michael’s College, where she honed her skills and developed a profound appreciation for the arts.
Upon graduating, Ellie began her teaching career at the Fales School in Westborough, Massachusetts. For seven years, she devoted herself to nurturing the creativity of elementary students, instilling in them a love for art and the joy of self-expression. Her classroom became a sanctuary where young minds could explore their artistic potential, guided by Ellie's expertise and enthusiasm.
Beyond the traditional school year, Ellie extended her teaching influence during the summers as a ceramics instructor at the Summer Fenn Camp in Concord. Here, she shared her deep knowledge of ceramics, inspiring campers to explore the tactile and transformative nature of clay. Her summers at the camp were marked by the creation of countless cherished memories and beautiful ceramic pieces.
Ellie's passion for pottery goes beyond teaching; it is a central part of her own artistic practice. She takes great pleasure in creating functional pieces, whether they are meticulously hand-built or skillfully crafted on the wheel. Each piece reflects her dedication to craftsmanship and her artistic vision.
When Ellie is not immersed in her studio, she finds joy in spending quality time with her family. Her husband, Justin, their energetic 2-year-old son, Bodie, and their loyal black lab, Tank, are the anchors of her life. Together, they explore the natural beauty of Stow, engage in playful adventures, and create lasting memories.
