FALL FAMILIES: Family Filmmaking (Families, Grades 6-8)

Step into the director’s chair together in this unique family filmmaking weekend! Over three fun-filled days, children in grades 6–8 and their parents will team up to co-create an original short film, learning the art of collaborative visual storytelling along the way. From reclaiming your digital device as a tool for creativity to exploring your community with a filmmaker’s eye, you’ll discover new ways to connect, create, and see the world. The program wraps with special invitations to a red-carpet-style December screening event where the final projects will premiere for friends, family, and fans. All equipment, resources and snacks are provided by The Umbrella.

Note: Registration includes parent/guardian with child. Friday’s session is for kids only, and Saturday’s and Sunday’s sessions are for parents and kids. Families should plan to bring lunch and picnic at The Umbrella or go to get lunch in nearby downtown Concord. There will be a 1-hour break in the middle of the day.

Session 1: Friday, October 17, 4:00-6:00pm
Session 2: Saturday, October 18, 10:00am-5:00pm
Session 3: Sunday, October 19, 10:00am-6:00pm
