Notice to War Paint Ticket Holders

March 19, 2020 by Rachel Olson

Dear Friends,

In response to the state of emergency and following the recommendations of public health officials, The Umbrella Stage Company has determined to postpone the musical production, War Paint. Originally scheduled to run April 24-May 16, the show will instead be rescheduled as part of our 2020-2021 Season lineup, to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, ticketholders will be contacted directly using the phone number or email address associated with their purchase and have several options.

  • Your ticket (or unused Season or Flex Pass credit) may be exchanged for a gift certificate redeemable toward a future production or season pass
  • You may take your ticket purchase and apply it as a tax-deductible donation to help defray the costs associated with this cancellation. A letter acknowledging this donation will be issued for your tax records.
  • You may choose to have your tickets refunded to your original method of purchase

You may also indicate your preference directly on our form.

We regret the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause. This larger than life musical about pioneering businesswomen Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubenstein was to have been the celebratory crowning event of the season. We know many theater-lovers looked forward to the production as much as we did, and we’re delighted that leading ladies Leigh Barret and Shana Dirik, director Julia Deter and music director Dan Rodriguez are willing to join us to resume production next season.

However, for the health and safety of our community, we believe this postponement is our best course of action. We have been so grateful for your support during our thrilling and unexpectedly challenging inaugural season as Greater Boston’s newest professional theater company.

We hope you stay healthy and safe, and look forward to welcoming you back to the theater soon!
