Article: Building Skills in Bustling Woodwork Classes at The Umbrella
January 3, 2019 by Stewart Ikeda
A new article in the Concord Patch news by writer Pam Ellertson gives a wonderful account of teacher Rita Roy's approach to Building Skills in Bustling Woodwork Classes at The Umbrella.
The article shows Roy's diverse skills and background interests -- from physics to theater to video to woodwork -- and an emphasis on imparting "skills students can take with them".
Woodworking is among the The Umbrella's Winter Classes offerings, held at the temporary Umbrella Annex during the renovation of our Stow Street classrooms.
Thanks to Ms. Ellertson for sharing her article!
