Ilse Plume & Priscilla Alpaugh

This class is co-taught by Ilse Plume & Priscilla Alpaugh.
Ilse Plume
My love of stories began when I was a child in war-torn Europe, sitting on my grandfather’s knee, listening to folktales. After finishing college with a BFA and MFA in painting and art education, I briefly studied printmaking at Santa Reparata Studio in Florence, Italy (now called SRISA.)
My first illustrated children’s books were all folktales from Europe. I received the Caldecott Honor Book Award for “The Bremen-Town Musicians.” Later I was awarded The Ezra Jack Keats Fellowship. I’ve been fortunate to visit The Bologna Book Fair for many years, to see the current trends in the publishing world.
