WINTER ADULTS: Reductive Techniques for Drawing and Painting
Course Description:
This class explores how erasure, restraint, and omission can create presence through utilizing charcoal and oil paints. Through layered mark-making and subtraction, students will learn to build images by removing rather than adding. The course emphasizes process, material sensitivity, and cultivating subtlety through minimal gestures and atmospheric depth. Examples of the process are seen here.
