FALL ADULTS WORKSHOP: Impressions of the Wild: Drypoint Printmaking

Course Description:
As part of the exhibition Voices in the Wild, join artist Jennifer L. Anderson for a hands-on introduction to drypoint printmaking – a direct and expressive intaglio technique dating back to the 15th century. Using simple tools, participants will scratch their designs into small postcard-sized plates, then ink and print them with Jennifer’s portable etching press. Drypoint is celebrated for its rich, velvety lines and its ability to capture the energy of hand-drawn marks. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will explore how this centuries-old method can bring immediacy and texture to images inspired by the natural world. Each participant will leave with their own original print – a tangible memento of the process and their time in the studio. This workshop is designed for all ability levels, from beginners to experienced artists. No prior printmaking experience is necessary.
