FALL ADULTS: Nature Journaling: Drawing, Data, Discovery

Course Description:     
Nature journaling increases your attention to nature’s details, creates a record of ecological change, and cultivates a habit of mindfulness. In this workshop, you will practice some basic drawing techniques, get ideas for making entries in a nature journal, and learn innovative ways to collect data in the field. Beginners are welcome. We will spend about a third of workshop time outdoors, weather permitting, so be prepared to dress for parks and trails.

Materials List: sketch book, graphite pencils, eraser, paper blender, sharpener, micron pen, and basic colored pencil set

Nancy Lowe works at the intersection of art, science, and natural history. For over two decades she has taught art-science workshops at colleges, universities, biological field stations, schools, museums, arts centers, and other institutions.
