Staged Reading: THE CLEAN HOUSE by Sara Ruhl
Join us on February 17, 2017 for a staged reading of THE CLEAN HOUSE By Sarah Ruhl. Directed by Korinne Ritchey, the play is a whimsical romantic comedy centered on Matilde, a Brazilian cleaning woman who would rather be a comedian. The play was a finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
The staged reading series was designed to highlight lesser-known or rarely produced works with a focus on telling stories which create dialogues or tackle important social issues. The series provides a platform for important voices to be heard and for our artists and audiences to engage with the Performing Arts at The Umbrella in a new and exciting way. Past titles include Angels in America by Tony Kushner, Looking for Normal by Jane Anderson, and Third by Wendy Wasserstein.
