FALL ADULTS: Intro Woodworking: Wooden Tongue Drums

Course Description:     
This beginning machine woodworking class will teach the proper usage and safety for the chop saw, band saw, jointer, planer, table saw, and scroll saw. Students will also learn relevant hand tools. As we learn skills, we will build a wooden tongue drum, a music box that produces notes when hit. No woodworking experience necessary.

Instructor: Olivia Curtis
Olivia is a sculptor based in Lowell, MA. Her process-based practice incorporates wood, glass, and ceramics. Her work is focused on creating systems to integrate materials across studios. She has taught woodworking to students at Massachusetts College of Art and Harvard’s Art, Film, and Visual Studies program.
