WINTER YOUTH: Physical and Digital Painting (Ages 8-12)

Course Description:     
Expand your painting skills both physically and digitally in this class. Students will continue to develop their painting skills using traditional painting methods to create physical works of art in addition to creating digital paintings. As, creative technology grows faster by the minute it is important for artists to learn how to use both physical and digital painting tools to have a well-rounded artistic mind and practice. In the digital portion of the course students will learn how to emulate real brushstrokes and create beautiful digital paintings. At the end of the semester there will be a classroom showcase of both styles of paintings.

This class is an introduction to digital painting. We will be working at a beginner level, covering the fundamentals of creating art on a digital device.

Instructor: Mandy Strobel
Mandy Strobel is a mixed media illustrator specializing in contemporary art making. She is a recent graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design. After receiving her BFA in Illustration, she worked as a Lead and Assistant Teacher at the Umbrella Arts Center Summer Camp. During her time at school she worked for community programs in Boston such as Pao Arts Center and CACP or Center for Art and Community Partnerships at Massart. Learn More »
