WINTER YOUTH: Handbuilding & Wheel Throwing Fundamentals (Ages 8-12)

Course Description:     
In this class students will explore different hand building and wheel throwing ceramics projects. While hand-building they will learn to work with pinch pots, slabs, and coils and to create your own functional ceramic pieces, as well as ceramic sculptures. They will also learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing, practice basic techniques like centering, shaping, and creating simple forms. Students that have taken this course previously are welcome to take it again as projects will be new from the previous semester.

Maddie Gage is a ceramic artist from Concord, Massachusetts. She has over 9 years of experience working in clay, committing to pursue a career in ceramics before graduating high school.
