WINTER ADULTS: New Approaches to Drawing
Course Description:
We will look at traditional approaches to drawing through a contemporary lens including drawing as a mindful practice, a mode of thinking, a creative process, data visualization, and fine art. Through looking at a wide range of artists’ work and exploring diverse applications and techniques of drawing, we will hone our skills and expand our definition of what drawing can be and how it can help us illustrate and document our world.

I work in an additive and subtractive process where imagery grows into vertical gardens with intertwined organic elements. There is a focus on painterly expression and craft, yet threaded through my canvases are themes of human interaction with the natural world; what we discard and collect; and loss of innocence.
