SPRING YOUTH: The Art of Collage (Ages 5-8)

Course Description:     
Unleash a world of unlimited creative possibilities in this mixed media collage class. Youth students will create weekly projects exploring the history of collage as an art medium that has sparked imagination, expression, and creativity. Through fun lessons students will learn concepts such as composition, color theory, and more while using a wide range of materials, from magazines and newspapers to painted surfaces and even tin foil. By the end of the course, students will come away with a collection of collage work ready to be displayed!

Instructor: Elizabeth Hopkins
Elizabeth Hopkins (b. 1993) is a photographic artist and educator based in Boston, MA. A lifelong visual artist, Hopkins discovered her passion for photography during a road trip across the Midwest. She is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she earned her master’s in photography. She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Skidmore College.
