Construction Update: June Entry to 40 Stow St

The front entrance of 40 Stow Street will be temporarily innaccessible during mid-June while paving construction work is completed.

During this period, the building will be accessible using the side entrance, which feeds off of the municipal parking lot, next to back construction gate. The temporary entrance is indicated by the red circle below.

Boston Globe writer Nancy Shohet West went behind the scenes to explore the root inspirations and stories that drove writer/photographer Joe Wallace to tackle the topic of dementia in his project "Beginning at the End: Portraits of Dementia," on display during an extended run through July 7, 2019 at The Umbrella Gallery.

ArtWeek Wrap-Up: Earth Month-Themed Poetry Challenge Explores Diversity

In partnership with ArtWeek for 2019 (April 26 – May 5, 2019), The Umbrella Arts & Environment Program took the opportunities afforded by several of its Musketaquid Earth Month-related events to invite the public to contribute to a mixed-media installation in its annual, non-juried art exhibition, this year responding to the theme "Embracing Diversity in a Climate of Change".

Studio Artist Spotlight: Tracy Bull

The convenience of The Umbrella is what attracted Tracy Bull back in 2013. If you ask her she’ll say, “Nothing would have held me back from The Umbrella because it’s a convenient specter.” With three kids and a busy schedule Tracy was able to take advantage of The Umbrella’s beneficial location and kid friendly opportunities.
