EM3050 Activity: Muskrats and the Creation of the Earth
Now that you've explored your local wetland and played some Wetland Bingo, let's learn more about one wetland creature in particular: the muskrat! Muskrats live in wetlands environments or areas with easy access to water. Like beavers, muskrats build nests and lodges on rivers and block water from flowing. As a result, muskrat activity has a big impact on rivers! You've probably already seen the homes your local muskrat neighbors without even recognizing it! Now is your opportunity to explore the habitats and activities of muskrats and to appreciate the spiritual impact of muskrats in an Ojibwe legend. Let's get started!

- Make something! Build a baby muskrat out of papier mache. Draw a muskrat on your driveway with some sidewalk chalk. Write your own story about Muskrat. Further your connection with Muskrat by sharing what you learned and observed through your creation!
