SPRING ADULTS: Spontaneous Textural Painting

Course Description:

Build artistic courage and confidence with textural painting and process based exploration. In addition to learning about integrating textural mediums, this course is a time to trust your process, encounter the unexpected, engage personal themes and make meaning.

In this class you will: Learn to use textural mediums such as fiber, crackle and molding pastes, pumice, glass bead gel, stucco and Venetian plaster. Study inventiveness in contemporary painters. Identify a personal palette with color farming. Harvest the raw power of collage for compositions. Learn to replace visual habits with thoughtful spontaneity. Put this all together to create sophisticated, integrated and meaningful paintings.

This is a space for both narrative and abstract artists to play, to be enchanted, to be surprised. No one else can make what you make. Beginning to advanced artists welcome.
