Staged Reading of GLORIA by Brandon Jacobs Jenkins

Join us on May 19, 2017 for a staged reading of GLORIA By Brandon Jacobs Jenkins. Directed by Justin J. Sacramone, this funny, trenchant and powerful new play follows an ambitious group of editorial assistants at a notorious  Manhattan magazine, each of whom hopes for a starry life of letters and a book deal before they turn thirty. But when an ordinary humdrum workday becomes anything but, the stakes for who will get to tell their own story become higher than ever. Developed at The Vineyard during Branden’s residency, GLORIA is directed by Evan Cabnet (OUTSIDE PEOPLE).

The staged reading series was designed to highlight lesser-known or rarely produced works with a focus on telling stories which create dialogues or tackle important social issues. The series provides a platform for important voices to be heard and for our artists and audiences to engage with the Performing Arts at The Umbrella in a new and exciting way. Past titles include Angels in America by Tony Kushner, Looking for Normal by Jane Anderson, and Third by Wendy Wasserstein.
