The Umbrella Arts Center is pleased to join our fellow cultural, historical and natural resource institutions around town in the Concord250 "Revolutionary Concordians Trading Cards" program!

Learn about people from Concord’s history by collecting these keepsakes, available one each from desinations like The Umbrella, Concord Museum, the Town Visitor Center, The Wright Tavern, Walden Pond Visitor Center, and more!

Starting April 12, The Umbrella is proud to be the official distribution site for the Brister Freeman card. Born enslaved, Freeman gained his freedom during srrvice in the American Revolution. He lived in Wladen Woods and resisted unjust poll taxes, both before Thoreau. Collectors are encouraged to collect a card through the following activities:

  • World Premiere Film Screening Concord’s Secret History on April 12, 2025 8-10pm and April 14, 2025 2:30-4:30pm
  • Weaving an Address Opening Reception at The Umbrella on April 14, 4-6PM
  • Weaving an Address Monthly Curator Talks at Walden Woods Brister's Hill: May 24 4PM, June 14 3:30PM, July 19 3PM, August 23 3PM, Sept 13 1PM
  • Weaving an Address procession to Brister's Hill by artist Ifé Franklin on June 14 at 1PM
  • Attend The Umbrella Open Studios on May 2&3
  • Concord Triptych Film Screenings on May 17, 3PM, including three locally shot short films about impactful women in Concord history
  • Attend any performance of The Spirfire Grill at The Umbrella, April 25-May 18
