First Tuesday Community Event: Empty Bowls

Join us for our annual Empty Bowls Community Event on November 7, 2017 at First Parish Church in Concord, MA. Empty Bowls is an internationally renowned project focusing on raising both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger. Participating artists volunteer their time to create and glaze ceramic bowls, then serve a simple meal. Food is donated from local restaurants, farms and bakeries to compliment the handmade wares. Guests choose a bowl to use that day and to keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. In exchange for the meal and the bowl, guests contribute a suggested minimum donation. The proceeds are donated to our local hunger-fighting organization, Open Table Concord.

Through The Empty Bowls Project we aim to raise as much money as possible to feed the world's hungry people, increase awareness of hunger and related issues through education, and action. Concerned individuals can change human attitudes that allow hunger to exist by finding new solutions to old problems.

Empty Bowls is sponsored in part by the Nashoba Brook Bakery, and Verrill Farms.
