FALL ADULTS: Lusters Workshop

Course Description:     
Come learn about Lusters! Ceramic lusters add beautiful accents of iridescent color and metallic embellishments to your work. They often include precious metals like gold and silver, and yield equally precious results. Students will have the opportunity to use white-gold, gold and mother-of-pearl on top of their glazed pieces, which will then be finished in a specialized electric firing. Safety instructions as well as tips and tricks for application will be covered. Registration open to all. Must have glazed pieces to decorate. Up to 3 4” pieces can be decorated, or an equivalent volume of smaller work. Lusters and firing are included in the price of this workshop.

Instructor: Corran Shrimpton
Corran Shrimpton is from Syracuse, NY and received her MFA from Georgia State University and her BFA from Alfred University. She has worked at a number of ceramic studios including The Saratoga Clay Arts Center in upstate NY, the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, FL the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago, IL, and most recently Mudflat Studios in Somerville, MA.
