GENERAL SUBSCRIPTION FAQs
What does my subscription purchase provide?
Each subscription purchased provides one ticket to each of our four 2026/27 season productions. If you are looking to purchase for yourself and a friend, you would purchase two subscriptions.
What types of subscriptions do you offer? How are they different?
- Prime Subscription
The best prices of the season to all four productions with no fees. Prime subscribers save at least 20% off each trip to the theater, and enjoy access to additional tickets for family and friends, free ticket exchanges up to 24 hours in advance, and exclusive special offers and early access to other Umbrella programs and events, such as our annual Broadway Concert. Plus - early birds get early access to our Holiday Pops concert!
Later in the summer:
- Preview Subscription: A low price for those who only wish to attend Friday or Saturday previews before the opening performance of each production. Preview subscription tickets may not be exchanged for non-preview dates.
- Flex Pass Package: A fee-free way of reserving four tickets that can be redeemed in any combination or quantity for any performance.
How do I select my performances & seats?
Patrons have the ability to choose their preferred performances during the check out process, as well as include seating requests, including ADA and ADA companion. Patrons also may elect to have the Box Office contact them if a phone call is preferable.
What seating sections are available?
Specific seats cannot be selected at the time of subscription purchase. The Box Office will assign the best available seats within your reserved section at the time of purchase and will do our best to reserve those same seats for every show. Reserved section seating is available for The Umbrella Main Stage Theater 144; The Black Box Theater offers only General Admission seating on a first-come first-served basis. While every seat in The Umbrella Main Stage Theater 144 has excellent sight lines, seating areas are divided into 4 sections: Premium, Center, Side, and ADA/Companion. For a map of the theater, click here. If you have any seating preferences, please provide that information in the notes section during your purchase, or contact us at BoxOffice@TheUmbrellaArts.org. If you need to change your seats at any time, or require ADA/Companion seating, please contact the Box Office.
How do I get my tickets?
You may opt for Print-at-Home tickets (emailed in advance of the performance) or Will Call tickets, which can be picked up from the Box Office beginning 45 minutes before the performance.
Is the 2026/27 Season appropriate for young people?
There is no official rating system for live theater and productions vary. We would like to provide you with whatever information we can to help gauge whether a play or musical could be a valuable experience for a young person(s) you know.
Please consult individual show pages and forthcoming educational materials for more detail, but for general reference:
- Bat Boy: The Musical is generally considered appropriate for high school students, especially when they are prepared with an understanding of camp sensibilities and dark humor. The mysterious origins of the title character are spoilers worth considering when evaluating appropriateness.
- I and You centers on two high school students and is generally considered appropriate for middle- and high school students. The play does deal with illness and mortality, so if these are areas of sensitivity, please reach out for more information.
- Into the Woods was made into a fairly faithful 2014 film starring Meryl Streep and others, so viewing that movie may help you to gauge the appropriateness of this offering for young people. The first act of the show concludes in a more traditional “happy ever after” manner before act two complicates the plot and deepens the characters’ journeys.
- Indecent is a Tony award-winning play about the first kiss between two women to be staged on Broadway. The play deals viscerally and intellectually with prejudice (homophobia, antisemitism), censorship, and similar topics. It is generally considered appropriate for middle- and high school students, especially when they are prepared with some understanding of 20th century American and European history.
We encourage you to consider individual maturity levels and show content in your decision, and to utilize the resources that will be made available on each show’s page and in linked resource guides. The Umbrella Arts’ educational materials for each show are available to download opening weekend of the show. If you’re unsure about whether to bring a young person to the theater or how to address topics and themes that a production may include, please consult these resources. You may also follow-up with our Box Office if you have any specific questions regarding show content, and our staff will help you to make your decision to the best of our ability!
When do single tickets go on sale?
Single ticket sales for our performing arts season begin late summer of 2026. Single ticket prices vary depending on seating section. Administrative fees, which are standard for single ticket purchases, are waived for subscribers. Please note that fees are charged regardless of the method of purchase, and will be charged for exchanges.
When will Holiday Pops tickets go on sale?
Single ticket sales for our Holiday Pops performances will begin in November. Performing Arts season subscribers who were granted early access by purchasing their subscription before June 30 will receive a follow-up call in the week before single tickets go on sale.
What is the new musical in concert collaboration with the Firebird Pops Orchestra?
A partially staged and totally unforgettable and moving experience of hearing musical theater talent backed by the power of a full sixty-piece orchestra in our 350-seat theater!
The performance times as well as the musical title itself will be announced at a later time. Stay tuned…!
