UMBRELLA ARTS CAMP (Half Day, Full Day, Teen)
The Umbrella Performing Arts Camp is the perfect program for students that enjoy performing & making art. Open to all students ages 8-14 regardless of acting & theatre experience. No auditions and guaranteed featured roles for every student.
This 2 week camp program immerses students in all aspects of the theatre from creating and performing an original play to building & painting set pieces, working on costumes, and prop making. At the conclusion of the 2 weeks the original play will be performed for an audience of family & friends on our Main Stage Theatre!
This program includes typical popular art making disciplines of: Woodworking, Painting and more in addition to acting & performing! Half of the day will be spent creating the set, props and costumes for the show while the other half will be spent building their acting skills through: Acting Techniques, Voice & Movement, Character Development, Theatre Games and more.
***NEW for Summer 2026***: A specialized 1 week Acting Intensive program during Week 7 only (August 10-14) . Open to all students ages 12-16 regardless of acting & theater experience. No auditions and guaranteed featured roles for every student. This 1 week intensive program will be a fast paced program focussed on creating and performing an original devised play. At the conclusion of the week the original play will be performed for an audience of family & friends on our Main Stage Theater.

DATES
Session 1: June 29 – July 10 | 9:00am - 4:30pm
This session’s performance will be inspired by the camp week themes of "Global Art Adventure and The Art of Tomorrow." If you have ever imagined exploring the world and imagining the world of the future inspired by modern art styles, this week will allow you to develop and perform an original play inspired by futuristic adventures! Performance will occur at 4:45pm on Friday July 10. Please note: There is no camp on Friday July 3rd.
Tuition: $1250
Registration Closes: Sunday, May 31, 2026
Session 2: July 13 – July 24 | 9:00am - 4:30pm
This session’s performance will be inspired by the camp week themes of "Folklore: Fables, Fairytales & Myths and Art & Archeology." If you ever imagined traveling back in time to explore past civilizations and learn how everyday life became the epic tales, fairytales, myths and legends we know today, this week will allow you to develop and perform an original play about a new folktale on stage. Performance will occur at 4:45pm on Friday July 24.

Session 3: July 27 – August 7 | 9:00am - 4:30pm
This session’s performance will be inspired by the camp week themes of "Elements of Nature: Jungles & Rainforests and Ahoy! The Sea & Stories." If you ever imagined going on a tropical exploration and adventuring on the high seas, this week will allow you to perform a daring tale on stage. Performance will occur at 4:45pm on Friday August 7.

Session 4: August 10 – August 14 | Acting Intensive ages 12-16 only | 9:00am - 4:30pm
A week-long intensive program for campers ages 12-16, where an original play will be developed and performed on stage. Performance will occur at 4:45pm on Friday August 14.
Tuition: $600

PROGRAM INFORMATION:
AGES
Sessions 1 - 3: 8-14 years (Grades 3-8 for the 2026-2027 school year)
Students enrolled may be separated into smaller groups throughout the day based upon the activity. This is to ensure age-appropriate programming and will be adjusted when necessary at the discretion of the Camp Director and Show Directors. In general all students enrolled in the performing arts camp program will work together throughout the day and are guaranteed to rehearse and perform together.
Session 4: 12-16 years (Grades 6-10 for the 2026-2027 school year)
HOURS:
Full Day: 9:00am - 4:30pm
Includes two morning art/performing arts classes, followed by lunch and then two more art/performing art classes in the afternoon. Students must be provided with a NUT-FREE lunch from home for the mid-day break & NUT-FREE snacks for a mid-morning & mid-afternoon break. Weather permitting we eat lunch at Emerson Field, where they can have outside play time! Students enrolled in the program must attend camp Full Day for both weeks of the 2 week program.

HOUSEHOLD SIBLING DISCOUNT:
A tuition discount of 5% off additional registrations is available when two or more children are registered for the same week(s) and program type.
REGISTRATION DEADLINES AND LATE REGISTRATIONS:
Registration deadlines are 11:59pm EST on Sunday, 4 weeks prior to the start of the each respective Summer Program week. Registrations for each week will close at each week's deadline. Late registrations after a deadline date may be accepted on a space available basis with an additional fee of $50. Parents must contact The Umbrella office by phone or in person and be ready to make payment at the time of registration and complete all of the required camp forms.
UNDER-ENROLLED PROGRAMS:
In the unlikely event that a program is under-enrolled, the Program will be cancelled 2 weeks prior to the start date and a full refund will be given.
WITHDRAWAL FEES:
- Tuition, less a $50 registration and processing fee per week and per individual (or per session) will be refunded if the request is made in writing on a time stamped email PRIOR to April 1st.
- 50% of tuition payments will be refunded if the written request is made prior to the registration deadline of 11:59pm EST on the Sunday 4 weeks prior to the start of each respective summer camp program week for the week that registration applies.
- No refunds will be issued on or after the registration deadline.
EXTENDED CARE:
Extended Day Morning is a combined morning program for students enrolled in Half Day or Full Day Umbrella Arts Camp and Umbrella Performing Arts camp programming from 7:30am – 9:00am, Monday-Friday. Tuition is $200 for the full two-week Performing Arts Camp session and can be purchased as an add on with camp registrations.
Extended Day Afternoon is a combined afternoon program we run for students enrolled in all of the Summer Arts Under The Umbrella Camp Programs from 4:30pm-6:00pm, Monday-Friday. Tuition is $200 for the full two-week Performing Arts Camp session and can be purchased as an add on with camp registrations. TUITION ASSISTANCE:
A limited amount of tuition assistance is offered by The Umbrella to cover partial tuition costs for families in need. Application and approval are necessary. WAITLIST OPTION:
Should a camp week sell out, we will open a waitlist. We encourage interested families to register for the waitlist option, as spots may open up.
