FALL ADULTS: The Dynamic Figure: A Comprehensive Approach to Drawing the Figure

Course Description:     
This class is designed to take the guesswork out of drawing the human figure. This eight-week course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and drawing from live models. Lectures will target classic methods of proportion, anatomy and rendering intended to guide the student to more successful and realized work. A heavy emphasis will be placed on old masterworks, the French Academics, and George Bridgeman. Demonstrations will provide a step-by-step approach to understanding how to draw the human form. Students will work from live models with the instruction they gleaned form lectures. Models on weeks 2, 4, 6, 7, 8. Weeks 1, 3, and 5 will be lectures, and academic work. Tuition includes all models fees.

Instructor: Aleksander Betko
Aleksander Betko is a contemporary artist who attended Art Student’s league of New York studying under Harvey Dinnerstein and Peter Cox. He later went on to Purchase College and finished his BFA at UMASS Lowell. Betko’s artwork often features landscapes, cityscapes, and portraits that convey intimate, introspective moments.
