The Umbrella Stage Company will sponsor the short play Three Seats as part of the Boston Theater Marathon XXV, May 7 at Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, 949 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, and streamed online.

The play is written by Kevin Cirone, whose play Voice of Reason was produced as part of The Umbrella Stage @Home series during the pandemic, directed by Michelle Aguillon.

Three Seats is directed by Dom Carter, featuring Gabbie Hatcher and Dustin Tueber (all three starred in this season's Dracula, also helmed by Aguillon) with Sharon Mason (Equus and Angels in America: Perestroika).

The Marathon is an annual fundraiser for the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund, which provides financial relief in a confidential, respectful manner to individual theater practitioners of Greater Boston and the surrounding areas, facing occurrences of a catastrophic nature including but not limited to extreme illness, devastating acts of nature, housing emergencies, vandalism, and theft, and who have limited or no resources with which to handle such events.
