Meet Outreach Coordinator Kyle Clifford

November 8, 2023 by Stewart Ikeda

As the Outreach Coordinator, Kyle’s role on the Umbrella Arts Education team is to conduct arts education experiences with community partners on the local and regional level, in addition to organizing on-site arts programming for a variety of audiences. With an M.Ed. in Arts, Community & Education from Lesley University and a life-long passion for the arts, Kyle enjoys developing programs that provide a creative and open space for people to engage with the arts, and with each other.

Among the programs she coordinates:

Partnerships
The Umbrella currently partners with a local nursery school and the Concord Recreation Department to provide in-school, afterschool arts education programs that are led by our talented instructors. We are looking to expand our afterschool programming to other districts! If your school district or organization is interested in discussing an arts education offering, please reach out to kyle@theumbrellaarts.org.

Birthday Parties
The Umbrella hosts creative, fun-filled birthday parties for kids (and adults!) ages 5+. These events include a 90-minute art activity led by an Umbrella instructor and 30 minutes to celebrate as you wish. We offer a variety of arts and crafts-focused parties, along with wheel-throwing and hand-building projects in our ceramics studio. Click here to learn more.

Scouts Workshops

Are you hoping to give your scout troop an opportunity to earn a badge in the arts? The Umbrella is the perfect place for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts to complete those requirements! Our instructors offer engaging, fun and creative sessions that also ensure that your troop will meet the criteria needed to earn their badges. Click here to learn more.

Community Celebrations & One-Time Programs

You can find The Umbrella at a wide range of community events in the area, including the Stow Street Block Party, Agriculture Day Market, Concord Tree Lighting Ceremony, and more! Join us in celebrating Earth Day at The Umbrella at our free community event in April. If your group or organization is interested in booking a workshop with us, reach out to kyle@theumbrellaarts.org.

Kid Care Shows Program

This program provides parents the opportunity to attend select performances while their children (ages 5-12) engage in art activities inspired by the film or show in one of The Umbrella's classrooms, with an experienced teacher. Kid Care Programs are aimed at providing better access to arts and culture events, while also creating a shared experience opportunity for families. Keep an eye out for next season’s performance schedule!
