FALL ADULTS: On and Off the Wheel

INT/ADV

Course Description:
This class is designed for students with prior wheel-throwing experience who are ready to expand their creative repertoire. Explore the dynamic possibilities of combining hand-building techniques with wheel-thrown forms, learning how to enhance your thrown pieces with decorative hand-built elements or incorporate thrown clay into hand-built creations. Through guided exercises and open studio time, you’ll experiment with textures, sculptural additions, and functional embellishments, pushing the boundaries of traditional ceramics. By the end of the course, you’ll have developed a versatile skill set that bridges the precision of wheel-throwing with the expressive freedom of hand-building. This class is suitable for intermediate-advanced students.
