Sinéad Theresa Sinnott

Studio:
302

Sinéad studied at Brandeis University, where she graduated with highest honors for her painting thesis and received the inaugural Fisher Family Award for Exceptional Achievement in the Arts. She is a painter, printmaker, and mixed media artist.

Her current paintings explores color relationships, natural versus manmade iconography, and the manipulation of repeated motifs. She adapts imagery from sources including old family slides and art history into saturated paintings with enough pictorial ambiguity for viewers to create their own narratives. She also manipulates imagery through collage or other media.

Sinéad has kept a sketchbook for many years. Recently, she has been recreating her pencil sketches into meticulous dip pen-and-ink drawings. She also has a practice of hand-sewing into paper in further exploration of methodical line and color choices.

She has worked as a professional sign artist and graphic designer.
