Mike Palmquist & Diane Pearlman

Mike Palmquist is a ceramic artist originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who now spends much of his time in Concord, Massachusetts with his partner Diane Pearlman. He studied ceramics at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and worked as a full-time potter for nearly 20 years. After a decade away from the studio, Mike has returned to clay with renewed energy and perspective. He continues to explore new directions in ceramics, experimenting with new techniques, forms, and creative possibilities.

Diane Pearlman started doing pottery just two years ago at the Umbrella Arts Center and quickly got hooked. She and her partner Mike soon bought a wheel and kiln and transformed their basement into a home studio. They recently purchased a compact wood burning kiln made by the renowned kiln builder, Judah Birkeland and are starting to explore all aspects of wood firing in their West Concord home.
