Art is a Family Affair

At The Umbrella Arts Center, creativity is a family affair. We believe that exploring art side-by-side fosters connection, confidence, and curiosity across generations. Whether you're a parent and child teaming up on a painting project, a grandparent and grandkid throwing clay on the wheel, or a caregiver and little one learning new crafting skills together, our intergenerational arts programs are designed to bring people together through the shared joy of making.
Our Family offerings include one-time workshops and recurring classes where family members work in parallel, exploring their own creative paths while supporting and inspiring one another; a monthly Free Family Day to drop into a complimentary, instructor-led and full-supplied craft project; and KidCare, a themed, supervised, hands-on workshop for children to explore the arts while their adults enjoy other programs onsite, such as the shows in our Stage Company season. With opportunities like these, there's always something for everyone — and every generation — under The Umbrella.
