It's officially summer at The Umbrella and we're excited to introduce the newest additions to our team!

Meet Riley BorstSola Stacey, and Rianne Wyckstrom.

Riley Borst (Education Programs Coordinator) is a passionate performer, educator, and scholar who believes in the transformative impact of arts education. Throughout her career Riley has strived to bring her love for theatre and the arts to the forefront of her work. She is thrilled to be a recent addition at The Umbrella and is looking forward to sharing her passion for arts education and helping enhance the education program.

Previously, Riley worked as a Pre-School and After School Teacher in Wellesley where she led theatre enrichments and art projects. She has served as a Lead Teacher in Summer Programs where she taught both Performance and Movement classes. Alongside this she also served as an Administrative Assistant and Manager of the Classical Artifacts Research Collection at Brandeis University.

Riley holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre & Performance Studies with a focus in Musical Theatre from Kennesaw State University and a Masters Degree in Ancient Greek & Roman studies from Brandeis University. Her academic research focused on ancient forms of performance and how we can adapt and bring those stories to a modern audience. Promoting a connection between ancient art and performance and contemporary art forms.

Sola Stacey (Visual Arts Summer Intern) is a fourth-year Cinema Studies student at Oberlin College pursuing a career in social media management and arts administration. She grew up in Concord and is living here for the summer. While on campus, she lives in the French House, where she loves engaging with language learning activities and community events. Over the past semester, she had the exciting opportunity to study European art and cinema in Copenhagen, where she traveled to Paris, Vienna, and Prague among other cities to immerse herself in unique art spaces and engage with artists from around the world. Her favorite highlight was seeing paintings by Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt in person. This summer, she’s excited to help out with The Umbrella Visual Arts as an intern researching artists, coordinating events, and assisting with marketing and social media. She particularly enjoys connecting with artists one-on-one and getting involved with local communities through art. In her free time, Sola loves creating art in many forms, from botanical drawings and figure studies to travel photography and collage. She also enjoys biking and taking walks on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail.

Rianne Wyckstrom (Education Summer Intern) is a third year History student at Bridgewater State University pursuing a career in museum education. She grew up in Hudson and is back home for the summer. While on campus she supports the Alden House historic site with their membership and welcoming new students to campus as a tour guide. This summer, she is ecstatic to assist The Umbrella Education team during their busy summer months. As an intern she will be compiling the weekly camp slideshows, coordinating with volunteer photographers, and helping summer camp to run as smoothly as possible. She is looking forward to meeting all of the campers’ smiling faces and gaining valuable education management experience. When she is not busy working, she enjoys reading and participating in Dungeons and Dragons sessions with her friends. She also enjoys visiting historic museums and properties to learn more about local history.
