June First Thursday

As of Memorial Day Weekend, a section of The Umbrella’s third floor has been turned into a new gallery space.  This new space is dedicated to showcasing the work of resident artists and students.  The first show, From the Source, highlights resident painter Lois Andersen and students from her oil painting classes as well as a group of ceramics teachers and their students.  Many of these students have been working at The Umbrella for years, honing their craft and learning from the artists in the building.

There will be an opening for From the Source at The Umbrella on June 4th from 6:00-8:00 during the June First Thursday event.  Studios will be open throughout the building and visitors are invited to view the art, speak with the artists, and find some inspiration of their own.  This event is free and open to the public.
