April First Thursday: Opening Reception for the Earth Month Show

On the First Thursday of every month, The Umbrella opens our doors from 6:00-8:00 for an event that is free and open to the public.  At each event several of the resident artists open their studios and invite guests to view their process.  In addition, each month features a different element of The Umbrella from our current exhibition to our various education programs.

Earth Day 2015In April, join us for the opening reception for the Earth Month gallery exhibit 25 Years of Celebrating the Confluence of Art and Nature. As part of the celebration surrounding the 25th anniversary Musketaquid Earth Day, this non-juried show examines the colors, patterns and textures that reflect where the art of nature and the nature of art intersect and encourages contemplation of their connection to one’s home place. The exhibit includes works in a variety of media including photography, woodcut prints, watercolor and acrylic painting, basketry, sculpture, video/slide show, and ceramics. While the reception is taking place in the gallery, attendees can create their own Earth Floats to launch during the Earth Day Celebration on April 25

25 Years of Celebrating the Confluence of Art and Nature will be on display from April 2 - May 1, 2015.
