Thrown and Altered Pots (@ Home) - Session II

Go beyond simple wheel thrown pots and explore the world of altered forms. Students will throw forms on the wheel and then change them by adding, removing, altering, and reshaping. We will utilize wheel throwing and hand building techniques to construct unique functional and sculptural forms. We will be covering colored slip and underglaze surface decoration techniques.

Special Instructions: Intermediate (students must be confident throwing on the wheel and must have access to a personal wheel)

Erica graduated from MassArt in 2014 with a BFA in ceramics. Post graduation, she has been teaching at communal clay studios throughout the New England area. She continues to make work out of her personal studio in Southern Maine. When creating functional pieces she utilizes wheel throwing, hand building, mold making, and image transfer techniques.
