What:  Teaching Assistants for February Vacation Week

A popular teen volunteer assignment! 

Where:  The Umbrella Community Arts Center, 40 Stow Street, Concord

When: Tuesday, February 21st to Friday, February, 24th2017. * See hours below.

Time Commitment: Choose all day or half days.Volunteer teaching assistants who are scheduled for full days should arrive at 8:30am and stay until 4:30 pm. Half day MORNING volunteer teaching assistants should arrive at 8:30am and leave at 1:00 pm. Half day AFTERNOON volunteer teaching assistants should arrive at 12:30pm and leave at 4:30pm. Extended day available until 5:30pm. More details will follow closer to the date.

Requirements: Outgoing, high energy, dependable, ability to take initiative, enjoy working with kids, ability to follow directions, excellent character, integrity, and flexibility.

February Vacation Week Theme: Art Explorers – Artful Engineering and Design!

Based around the changes taking place with new building plans and renovation at the Umbrella, our February Vacation week, Art Explorers, will take its inspiration from Engineering and Design!  Art Explorers – Artful Engineering and Design with get creative sparks going with hands-on projects focused on design thinking, building and sculptural constructions, environmental design and the natural world, machines and robotics!  The integration of the arts into science, math, and engineering is an important part of The Umbrella’s education mission to promote 21st century skills.  Your young artists will think critically and work collaboratively as we explore the many ways that art influences engineering and design. Join us, and let the adventures begin!
