Counselors-in-Training for Summer Camp @ The Umbrella community arts center

 

What: - CITs are “counselors-in-training”. The purpose of the CIT program is for high school aged young adults ages 14-16 to develop a sense of responsibility through observation, participation, planning and implementation, as well as to assist in the classroom.  CIT’s have the opportunity to be a great help to both the teachers and to the children.

A great experience and good way to get community service credits.

 

Where:  The Umbrella Community Arts Center, 40 Stow Street, Concord

 

When: Two weeks between July 3rd – August 25th 2017

 

Deadline: Application deadline is Monday, May 1, 2017 Soon!

 

Requirements:

Must be 14 to 16 years old. Must be reliable, dependable, enjoy working with kids, can follow directions.

The Umbrella’s EXPECTATIONS for CITs

·         Above all, spend time with the children.  The children need to know you are here to help them.

·         Be on time and let the Program Coordinator know when you go on break or go home.

·         Wear nametags.  This helps the kids, the teachers and Umbrella staff.

·         Be a positive role model.

·         Engage with the children in a fun and positive way.

·         Work with the teachers in a helpful, constructive way.

·         Do your part in the cleanup process, if everybody helps, it takes less time to accomplish all the tasks.

·         Gain an awareness of what is needed at any particular time, TAKE INITIATIVE.

·         Help to INSPIRE!
