Concord Artist Network

The Concord Artist Network started in March 2016 following conversations with artists at ArtScape and Nashoba Brooks about the need to create a town-wide resource for visual artists. Its purpose is to highlight artwork made and exhibited throughout Concord, MA and to provide a space for conversations around creativity to occur.

Ann Sussman from ArtScape and Margot Kimball from Nashoba Brooks were instrumental in coordinating these first conversations, hosting them in their studio spaces.  The gathered artists were particularly inspired by the strong network facilitated by the Somerville Arts Council and decided to start a listserve and Facebook group to provide accessible ways for Concord artists to communicate.

These online forums provide a chance for artists to share upcoming events, ask questions of Concord’s creative community, and spread relevant articles or resources.  In addition to this virtual resource, The Umbrella started a new monthly series in our gallery space open to all Concord artists.

This group is open to any artists living or practicing* in Concord, MA. The following posts will be shared with the community:

1.) Creative events happening in Concord or highlighting artists based in Concord
2.) Relevant articles or resources for Concord artists
3.) Questions for the Creative Concord Community

*This includes artists who have a studio in Concord, are affiliated with an organization in Concord, and more!
