Basket Making: Hexagonal Weave Basket

Hexagonal weave is a very old basket structure that is found throughout the world.  In the US, it is most recognized in Shaker cheese baskets.  Weaving with both horizontal and diagonal spokes, open hexagons are created.  We will practice weaving the base and then moving the hexagons upward to create the sides of the basket.  Class will include a review of how to make cordage with daylily leaves to be used in the rimming of the basket.
