Artful Equations (Ages, 5-8) OR (Ages, 9-12)

Math is a subject that involves visualization, experimentation, and creativity.  It draws on skills integrated in visual arts practices.  Artful Equation classes are fun, build spatial relationship skills, and generate feelings of confidence as children create complex and beautiful art. Form tessellations like MC Escher. Make cubistic creations. Play with numbers to create stars and spirals. The possibilities are endless. This class draws on the new widely recognized and respected educational movement of STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math! 

Instructor: Alicia Herman
 Alicia Herman earned a certificate in museum education from Tufts University in 2011. Earlier, she received a MSW from Hunter College, CUNY. She works at the Boston Museum of Science, Historic New England, and the Umbrella Community Arts Center.
